Steampunk?

The new challenge over at Cardz 4 Guyz is STEAMPUNK!
I hope you will come over and join in the fun. :)

So, this is my very first attempt at steampunk. Go easy on me. :)

I used a freebie image from Beyond the Fringe. I colored him up using my Prismacolor pencils; only three! The 'Riveted' background image is also from Beyond the Fringe. I broke out my Walnut distress ink (haven't used those in FOREVER) and distressed all my edges. Then I topped the background with vellum slightly larger than my first piece. Fussy cut my main image out and attached it only in the middle of the body so that the arms could stick out a bit from the card front. I added a Tim Holtz gear and Glossy Accents to one of his eyes (My pencil/marker bled a little). Thought that looked pretty cool.

Thanks for looking! I hope this finds you happy and healthy.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:

Lovely Little Lady (GD Gig #8)

I have been asked to join the Fitztown Challenge team for their #50 'Banners' challenge.
I am so excited.
And I always forget to use banners so this was a great reminder of how many uses they have. :)

I used a Fitztown Cameo. They have so many gorgeous options. Lovely, lovely ladies. I colored her up using my Prismacolor pencils and a few Copic markers. The designer paper is the Hip Hip Hooray collection by American Crafts and the mats are Stampin' Up's Melon Mambo. The card base is Sahara Sand. I used some twine in my stash for my banners. I made the banners out of my Stampin' Up scallop and 1 3/8 punches. The glitter letters are also from my stash. I used a pearl for her earring that I got in the Micheals dollar area a couple weeks ago. I am always forgetting to use stuff like that but she just called out for a fancy earring. :)

Thanks for looking! I hope this finds you happy and healthy.

Hats off to you. (CIC275)

It's time for another challenge over at Cupcake Inspirations! Come on over and join us. :)

This week our challenge is sponsored by Freckled Fawn.
Freckled Fawn is offering our randomly drawn winner a $15 gift certificate!

Wow! Thank you so much, Freckled Fawn

This week our challenge to you is PARTY TIME!!

I used Lawn Fawn's 'Hats Off to You' stamp set. I stamped the two party hats (and the one inside) with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored them in with my Prismacolor pencils. I used Stickles Diamond Dust on the polka dots that I left white and the inside of the letters of my sentiment. (Did you ever do that as a kid? Fill in all the circles that the letters made? I would entertain myself for the entire church service with that when I was a kid. :) ). My sentiments (both inside and out) were stamped with the same ink.

My little hat on the inside has its polka dots filled with Glossy Accents. Just to change things up a bit.

Thanks for looking! I hope this finds you happy and healthy.

You're my SUPER Hero.

This is my third post for Cardz 4 Guyz Challenge Blog. Come over and join me in the latest challenge, 'Stepper Cards'. This is my first card using this technique and it really was super easy to make. It's a nice way to jazz up a male card without turning it too girly. :)

I made this card for my father-in-law, who, along with my MIL, has helped me immensely since my husband has been prepping and/or at trial for the last two weeks. I couldn't have done it without them.

I started with an image from Sugar Pea Designs called 'My Hero'. I colored him up using my Copic markers. I Glossy Accented his glasses. The designer paper is Recollections 'Comic Heroes' pad. Love this stack.

I fussy cut out some of the action bubbles from the paper line. I found the hardest thing about this card was figuring out how to decorate it. Hopefully, since this is my first, I will only get better. :)

Thanks for looking! I hope this finds you happy and healthy.

'Ruff day? (GD Gig #7)

I have the wonderful opportunity the join the talented Design Team over at Send a Smile 4 Kids this week.
Here's a little bit about this awesome group and what they do.

Send A Smile 4 Kids is a charitable blog created for the purpose of collecting donated handmade cards to be distributed to children while they are inpatient at Children’s Hospitals. Currently we are donating them to the Children’s Hospitals in Neenah and Milwaukee, WI, University of Iowa Children's Hospital, Iowa City, IA, Blank Children's Hospital, Des Moines, IA, Sandford Children's Hospital, Sioux Falls, SD, and to the B.C. Children’s Hospital in Vancouver, British Columbia, Sick Kids Hospital in Toronto and Stollery Children's Hospital in Edmonton, Alberta, in Canada.   On any given day, there are many children inpatient in these hospitals so we would love to receive as many cards as you can send to cheer them and their families. The kids may also use your cards as Thank You Notes to the nurses and doctors and to give to parents or relatives on special days like birthdays or Mothers or Fathers Day.  Any cards appropriate for children are welcome including any holiday (not religious specific please) and happy anyday cards. For more information, please click HERE.

The challenge is ANYTHING GOES for kids. There are many opportunities to win, and I hope you will join me and enter a card of your own. They have three sponsors for this challenge:

Dollar Graphics Depot is offering a $15 gift certificate.

Oak Pond Creations is offering THREE digis.

Fred She Said is offering a $10 gift certificate

WOW!! Thank you so much for sponsoring this challenge!!

Isn't this Border Collie by Oak Pond Creations just the cutest? I'm already in the process of making another card with him (and the Trash Cats) so stay tuned for that. :)

I colored up my dog with my Prismacolor pencils. The paper is from TPC Studio's Paws and Claws Dog. You can see the mini album these scraps came from HERE. The Chocolate Chip card base is 5.5 inches square. The sentiment is from a Studio G dollar set I got at Michael at some point. It is stamped with Chocolate Chip ink. The veneer is from Studio Calico, I believe. This is the first time I have used wood veneers. I filled up the heart with Glossy Accents, as well as the 'woof' heart.

On the inside, I used more layers of scraps to add interest. I thought it would be cute to write the note on the orange polka dot paper. :)

Thanks for looking! I hope this finds you happy and healthy.

Back to School...

This is my fourth guest designer post for the Fairy Tale Challenge Blog
This week the challenge is Back to School Bingo.

So much fun! Our summer will be coming to an end in the next week or two so this challenge is much needed for me to get things ready for that first day back. This for a sweet little friend who started back to school on Wednesday.

I used Echo Park's Paper and Glue design paper. The card base is Stampin' Up's Sahara Sand and measures 5.5 inches square. I colored my Magnolia image with a combo of Copic markers and Prismacolor pencils. The ribbon is from Terri's stash and the apple charm can be found HERE.

Thanks for looking! I hope this finds you happy and healthy.

It's time for another Sister Act ANYTHING GOES challenge! Come on over and join us. :)

I love the simplicity of this card. Change the sentiment and it could be a card for any occasion. My focus is obviously the gems. :) I found them in the dollar spot at Michaels last summer, I believe. The sentiment is a Printworks set called Small Tag Lines. My card base is Stampin' Up's Pixie Pink.

Whoopsie Daisy is sponsoring our challenge this week! Thank you so much, Whoopsie Daisy. :)

Manly Silhouette

This is my second guest designer post for the Cardz 4 Guyz Challenge blog
This week Challenge #31 is Photos and/or Cameras.

Go easy on me...this is my very first shaker card EVER (and my second attempt). The first attempt failed miserably when I used the wrong adhesive for my foam. What is your favorite adhesive for this type of project?

My husband is heading out for a business trip shortly and I made some cards that he will (hopefully) find while he's away. :) I used Winnie and Walter's Leave It to Dad stamp set. This is a great set for 'Man' cards. I fussy cut my silhouette out, leaving a small border. My Polaroid is cut from a Lawn Fawn die. I used the square left over and embossed it with my Argyle Cuttlebug folder. I realize know it's a bit too small but oh well. I used star confetti that I received in a RAK many moons ago. I probably put too much in and it's sticking to the sides but, again, oh well. You have to learn by doing sometimes. :)

Thanks for looking! I hope this finds you happy and healthy.

How high... (CIC273)

can you wish? :)

It's time for another Cupcake Inspirations challenge!

We are sponsored this week by
Doodle Pantry is generously providing a prize of a $10 coupon to our randomly chosen winner.

Thank you for sponsoring the challenge!

Each challenge, we give you an inspiration cupcake and you make a card or other craft project that is inspired by the cupcake.  Here is this week's cupcake (linked to original source):

I used Balloon Ants. Aren't they adorable? I think this makes the perfect birthday card for a youngster. We have lots of birthdays in August so I need lots of birthday cards on hand.

I started with vellum and cut it out with my Nestabilities oval dies. The first oval I cut, I took my cloud handheld punches and created 'holes' in the oval. But I didn't like that much so I redid it using plan white, Swiss Dot embossed clouds. Then I popped the whole thing up on dimensionals and layered it on a DCWV's Sunday Afternoon pattern paper oval I attached to the front of my card. Last, I rounded two of my corners.

On the inside, I used more of the sentiments that came with my image and cut them out using my Nestabilities circle dies. I tacked the clouds I cut from the original oval circle (that I didn't use) underneath to give the impression of floating.

I really like how it came out. :)

Thanks for looking! I hope this finds you happy and healthy.
